Rochester Women’s Giving Circle

The Rochester Women’s Giving Circle (RWGC) is a community of philanthropic women who combine their financial resources to support area women and girls on their journey to economic independence. Annual grants are made to programs and organizations in Monroe County that help women and girls gain knowledge and skills, enabling them to achieve their goals and take control of their lives.

The Giving Circle is also a learning community, where members gain insights into philanthropy as a vehicle for social change, as well as becoming informed on specific issues and problems facing women and girls in this area. Through this hands-on philanthropy model, members can be directly involved in shaping the future of our community.

RWGC’s philosophy is ‘money in/money out’. Each year, all membership contributions are distributed as grants, and the process starts again the following year. As an all-volunteer organization with virtually no overhead, almost 100% of member contributions go directly to programs for women and girls, thus maximizing the impact of members’ dollars.

RWGC was the first formally established giving circle in the community and is an Initiative Fund at The Community Foundation, with full oversight provided by Giving Circle members.

Membership
Annual dues are $1,040. Quarterly or monthly payment may be arranged. We do not accept credit cards at this time.

We welcome anyone who shares our passion for creating opportunities for women and girls to reach their full potential and invite you to make a donation to the Giving Circle. If you would like to contribute to the Giving Circle, please contact us. If you make a gift in honor of an individual, we will acknowledge your gift to that person.
