Reports

The following reports were either commissioned by Rochester Area Community Foundation or include information related to the people and programs in our eight-county region:

2013: A Community Foundation-commissioned report, Success for Rochester City Students: Making a College Education Attainable, is an inventory of current in-school and out-of-school services provided to Rochester students to prepare them for college.  

2013: A Community Foundation-commissioned report, City of Rochester Summer Meals Needs Assessment, looks at participation and barriers of the program. 

2012: An analysis of the 2011-12 Grade 3 English Language Arts state test results for Rochester City School District students shows that only 23 percent of Rochester's third-graders met or exceeded state standards. 

2012: ACT Rochester, a Community Foundation initiative, in March released a Community Report Card, which provided an overview of how the greater Rochester region is faring. In May, a County Report Card for each county became available. To find out more, click on your county here.

2011: The 2011 Inventory of After-School Providers for Monroe County looks at the availability and types of programs in our community.

2011: A Transfer of Wealth study, commissioned by the Community Foundation, found that the region's current net worth is more than $80 billiion. This means that the nine-county region is poised to experience an unprecedented transfer of $33.5 billion between generations in the next 20 years.

2011: Rochester's after-school successes were showcased in a report by the National League of Cities highlighting the best after-school and out-of school programs. Click here to read more about what is happening locally.

2006: A survey measuring social capital levels in the greater Rochester community showed that we’ve become more comfortable with friends of different races and less opposed to interracial marriages, increasingly more active in charitable and social welfare organizations, more interested in politics and significantly more involved in arts and cultural organizations.

2000: Rochester Area Community Foundation was a partner in the national Social Capital Community Benchmark Survey. Local results showed more residents in our region are somewhat more trusting and tolerant. However, deep disparities in trust exist between people of different backgrounds
