Meet Denishea Ortiz, the Foundation’s New VP of Marketing & Communications
December 18, 2024We are excited to welcome Denishea Ortiz, our new vice president of Marketing and Communications.
Denishea comes to the Community Foundation from the Rochester Institute of Technology, where she elevated the RIT brand as executive director of Marketing and Communications. During her previous roles at Procter & Gamble and Nestlé Purina, Denishea increased retail foot traffic, expanded distribution, and improved category growth. There’s not a lot she hasn’t handled over the course of twenty years in marketing, sales, and communications.
Denishea has also had a significant presence in the local nonprofit landscape, serving on the boards of Causewave Community Partners, Ibero-American Action League, the Urban League of Rochester, Sigma Lambda Upsilon/Señoritas Latinas Unidas Sorority, and — until recently! — the Community Foundation. One piece of advice Denishea would give to people looking to make a difference in our community is, “Bring your chair to the table: Your voice is worth being heard and your experiences matter.”
Transitioning from higher education to philanthropy, Denishea says she is most excited about fostering connections with community partners and donors through innovative storytelling.
When Denishea is not building marketing campaigns or strategizing about communications, she can be found working out at the YMCA, hiking, or dancing and singing around the house. Her greatest superpower is making travel arrangements.
We look forward to the impact Denishea’s expertise and enthusiasm will bring. Feel free to send Denishea a note welcoming her to the Community Foundation team.
