Esther and Harry Frost Memorial Scholarship
Purpose of Scholarship
This scholarship was established to provide awards to graduating seniors from Clyde-Savannah High School who plan to pursue higher education through college or trade, vocational, or apprenticeship programs.

Number and Size of Awards
One award of $10,000 each to both a male and a female student; award paid at the recipient’s preference per the payout options for up to four consecutive years of undergraduate study. Award paid in the Fall and divided equally between the Fall and Spring semesters. See Award Announcement and Payment section below for more information.
Allowed Use of Award
Awards may be used for tuition, fees, books, and other expenses associated with higher education.
Eligibility Criteria
For one male and one female student who have the fifth highest, un-weighted, cumulative grade point average among their respective male and female peers. This award is based solely on academics. In the event that one or more of these students does not pursue higher education after graduation, an alternate student would be selected. The award would then be given to the student with the fourth highest average and so forth.
Application Process
The determination process is coordinated by the Clyde-Savannah High School Counseling Office, where information is available if applicable.
Committee/Selection Process
The selection process is coordinated through the Clyde-Savannah High School, which determines the recipient(s) and informs the Community Foundation.
Award Announcement and Payment
The Community Foundation emails a certificate to the high school for presentation to the recipient and emails an award notification with instructions for claiming the award to the recipient in the Summer. Payment is mailed to the school for the recipient’s account in one lump sum in the Fall and split between the Fall and Spring semesters once required documentation is received.
To release the initial scholarship payment, upload the requested documents to the Community Foundation’s online Scholarship Portal between July 1 and August 15.
To release subsequent scholarship payments, upload the requested and required information to the Community Foundation’s online Scholarship Portal. NOTE: Recipients have the option to reject all or a portion of the award. Additionally, payment may be deferred for up to one year, but the award must be paid out within five years of graduating high school. Any amount remaining after five years will be forfeited. Renewability
This scholarship is a one-time award and is not renewable; however, students may choose their individualized payment schedule. Please see the Award Announcement and Payment section above for more information.
Donor Information
Esther Frost was a Syracuse University graduate and librarian. Her husband Harry worked for Grove Labs as a salesman. The couple lived in Clyde for many years, and although they had no children of their own, Mrs. Frost knew the importance of education and wanted to provide an opportunity for students attending Clyde-Savannah High School.
